Dr. Iva Thomas received her Doctorate of Ministry on May 10, 2014 with a focus in Evangelism and Discipleship from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia. She has an Associates degree in Biblical Studies and a Bachelor of Science degree in Leadership; both from the College of Biblical Studies in Houston, Texas. She obtained a Master of Divinity degree from Houston Graduate School of Theology.
Dr. Thomas has worked with incarcerated women at the Fort Bend County Jail. She has also worked with women recently released from incarceration to a transitional living facility, where she acted as the spiritual leader.
She has devised and implemented programs for intergenerational mentoring in a postmodern culture for women, Strategic Biblical Training Program for Women Mentoring to the Women and a Divorce Recovery Program for a church here in Houston, Texas.
In 2012, she received a certification as a Family Violence Counselor from the Violence Intervention and Prevention Center. She holds a certificate as a Certified Wellness Motivational Coach and a certificate for the Community Development Track from the College of Biblical Studies. She became a licensed minister on March 3, 1999 by Brentwood Baptist Church, where she presently serves as a Decision Time Counselor, a R.E.L.A.Y. Coach and an associate minister.
